Jamie Spears is Pregnant
It was very shocking to Jamie Spears as it was to everyone else that she is going to be a mother sooner than she thought. As of December 18, 2007 Spears told ‘OK Magazine’ that she was pregnant. Her and her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge are expecting.
As for Spears, staring on ‘Zoey 101,’ the fourth season is already taped and her pregnancy will have no affect on the show. On the other hand, Nickelodeon is contemplating weather to cancel the show or not. Nickelodeon says canceling the show would just attract more attention to Spears and the situation. Many children are unaware of what is going on with Spears and her personal life.
Spears say she wants to raise the baby back in Louisiana so the child can have a normal life.
I am just as shocked as everyone else about Jamie Spears pregnancy. I think the whole situation makes her look like a bad role model because she is such a big star on ‘Zoey 101’. I don’t think it fair for people to blow this situation out of proportion just because she is a star. There are many young teen pregnancies each year that no one ever hears about. I just don’t understand why it is such a big deal when young stars become pregnant. It may make them look like a bad role model but this is going on all over the world today.

- Why is it such a big deal when a young star gets pregnant when there are so many teen that get pregnant at a young age?
- What is this going to mean for Jamie Spear’s future?
Child Soldiers
All around the world, innocent children are being taken from their families and are being turned into deadly weapons. ‘Warlords’ are forcing young children to become child soldiers. Many are taken from their schools and beds and are brainwashed after seeing their loved ones murdered. They join the militias with their best wish to survive. After they are in militias, many are drugged and sent of into war to kill. A lot of the child soldiers as young as eight are off to fight and their guns are bigger then they are. As the world continues to grow this problem is growing as well. There are over 250,000 child soldiers and the number continues to get bigger each day.
I think ‘Blood Diamond’ did a great job showing how child soldiers are brutally turned into killers. In the movie, Dia was an excellent student, but his whole world was turned upside down when he was taken from his family. He was turned against his people and almost killed his father.
I think it is wrong how militias of child soldiers invade refugee camps, open fire, kill so a lot of people, and don’t seem to care that they have just taken someone’s life. As young as they are, they probably don’t realize they are doing anything wrong because that is what they were taught to do. I think ‘warlords’ are horrible people for taking small innocent children from their families and torturing them the way they do.
Homesourcing or Not?
Due to the high fuel prices and the advanced technology in today’s world many companies are choosing to homesource. JetBlue is just one of the many companies that are choosing to homesource. Within the next few years, it is believed that homesourcing will triple. Since the fuel prices are going through the roof, if many companies are not letting their employees homesource their employees are living around the area they are working in.
I think homesourcing is a wonderful idea. Many families have a hard time balancing their work schedules and children. With homesourcing, life would just be so much simpler. Instead of having to take the kids to daycare and being rushed in the morning, you would be able to work around your schedule.
I personally would not choose to homesource. I would not want do this because I would be home all the time and I wouldn’t get to see many people. If I had to work at home, I think I would find myself being distracted by doing other things. If things came down to it and I had no say in homesourcing I think I would be able to do it if my family’s wellbeing depended on it.
The Grizzly Man
Timothy Treadwell was a kind and caring man that was very trusting. I think Treadwell truly cared about the “friends” he made in the wilderness. I feel the same way about Steve Irwin. I believe both of these men were taking very big risks, but they had enough trust in animals to do so.
I could tell that Treadwell truly cared about the bears because while he had spent the last thirteen summers of his life in the wilderness with them, it never crossed his mind once to take any weapons incase something would happen to him. He said that he would not do this because he was on their land and they were letting him stay.
While being out there for many expeditions for more then a decade he didn’t just make friends with just the bears. He also had a relationship with the foxes. Even though in the movie one of the baby foxes took off with his hat, I could tell he was frustrated about it, but he was doing something he enjoyed.
All in all I believe that Timothy Treadwell was a very brave man for doing what he did for so long, it’s just too bad that his life was taken the way it was.
The Cougar Library
When you think of the library you probably think of many books, but there is a whole other world than that in the library. The books you read create a new picture in their own way.
Many people enjoy going to the library because they like reading their books in a quite peaceful place. But on the other hand some people think the library is a place to socialize and goof off.
During the school day, many teachers take their students in the library to check out book and work on the computers for school research. I know of several people that like to go in there on their lunch hour and use the computers for their own personal use.
The library is an interesting place because of the large variety of people that share this place. What I mean by that are different people like to read different types of book. Many of my friends like to read real life stories, so they ready many non – fiction books.
A memory I have being at CHS in the library is when my friends and I would go in the library each day after lunch, grab a piece of candy, and sit at the tables telling each other about the books we were reading. At the time I was reading “A Child Called It” and I was telling my friends what the child in the book was going through, and none of them could believe what I was telling them. So they all ended up reading it for themselves.
Ohio School Shooting
A 14 year old Cleveland boy, Asa Coon, went on a shooting spree after he was suspended earlier during the week for fighting near the school. Students were hiding in closets and bathrooms afraid and didn’t know what to do. Once the principle announced “Code Blue” students know what to do. After the shooting was done and over, there were five injured and he took his own life. Of the five that were injured, two teachers and two students were shot at and one student was hurt after trying to get out of the school while the shooting was going on. Everyone that was hurt was not in any life threaten conditions.
I think the shooting in Cleveland at Success Tech Academy could have been prevented. I am thinking this because many students had heard Coon making threats a week before he even did anything. The students did the right thing by going to the principle and tell her what he said. I think it was wrong of the principle because every time the students wanted to talk to her, she was always to busy to talk to them. It was wrong on her part, because that is part of her job as well as the teachers to make it a safe environment for the students. This is why I do think this shooting could have been prevent, if things would have been taking care of differently
Gender Differences
I do think there are many gender issues in our world today. In a few articles I have read there have been problems with divisions with man and women. In an article I have read there was a girl who wanted to get into a really good college, but she thinks she was unable to do so because she didn’t do enough extra curricular activities. I don’t believe that is the right way to have selected the students for a college. If that is the reason she didn’t get into a good college, I think I am going to have a hard time getting in a good school to because I don’t do any extra activities. The college also chose students that had a certain name of cloth. It should not be based on things like that in my opinion.
Women have a lot of pressure at school as well as at home also. Within the last 35 years women’s lives have changed a lot. Back in the day women were to stay home, do housework and take care of the children. While the women stayed home and did things about there, the men were out working to make money to support their families.
Now days, many men and women both work in the household. But I think the women have more of a responsibility than men today. In most cases, women have more responsibility because they have to go to work, then come home prepare a meal for the family, and also may have to do housework. While men on the other hand come home from their day of work, eat and usually in most cases do what they want to do for the reminder of the day. I think women are unhappy today because of all the things they have to do. I don’t think men do their part around the house.

Humans Being Microchiped?
Did you ever think what it would be like to be chipped? I didn’t until I had to do a research project about animals and people being microchipped. There are many pros and cons about being chipped. Something good about being chipped is all your medical records are available to any emergency people if you are unresponsive. Unfortunately, in animal studies it has caused tumors.
I would not want to be chipped. It would be nice to be chipped because all they would have to do is scan my chip and all my medical records would come up almost instantly. It would also be nice because if I was not in the area I lived, they would only have to scan my chip. But on the other hand, there is too many risks involved and not enough proof about the safety of the microchips. Also I would not like to be chipped because in some of my research I read that many things could go wrong. There are many hospitals that do not have the technology to scan the chips yet, but hope to have it soon. I read in one of my research articles that because the chips are controlled by computers, something could go wrong and you could burn internally and also externally.

Local ATV Trails
A local ATV club went in front of Fond du Lac County’s Park and Development Committee and said that they wanted to us the Eisenbahn Trail during the winter season. The club wanted to do this last year, but failed because of a County Board Vote. They think the idea failed last year because they think the Board didn’t understand the information they gave them. The ATV club wants to use the trail only in the winter when the ground is frozen. The club said that if there were to be any damage done to the trail that they would fix it.
People in the local area are concerned because they are afraid people from surrounding states are going to come in and use the trail and not care about the damage they may do to it as much as the those that live near it. Some only want the trail to be used for skiing, hiking, and walking.
I think ATVs should be able to use the trails. They would have to respect everything and everyone that uses the trails just like everyone else would have to. I think the hikers should let ATVers use the trails because there are no trails around here for ATVs to use. If anyone wants to ATV they have to go up farther up north to do so. I think there should be some sort of ATV trail in the area.
